Red all over, lights and all. Somebody was working late.
A sticker goes on crooked. Another peels off after a house move. Sometimes the sheet never made it into the box at all. Whatever happened, you want the set to look right again, and there are three ways to get LEGO replacement stickers. Which one suits you depends on what went wrong.
If your set is new, ask LEGO
LEGO’s customer service sends replacement stickers when they are missing from a new set or will not stick. Go to their replacement parts page, enter the set number and choose the sticker sheet. If it is not listed, there is an option to say you cannot find what you need, and they will check. It is the right first stop, and asking costs nothing.
If your set is older, look for an original sheet
Once a set is retired, LEGO may have no sheets left. Original, unused sheets turn up on BrickLink and Brick Owl, listed under the set number with “stk01” on the end for the first sheet. Prices follow how rare the set is, so check both before you buy.
If you want something different, have them made
This is the question our custom enquiries keep asking, and two recent jobs show why. One builder rebuilt a pink sports car set brick for brick in red. Every original sticker was pink, so none of them would match. We measured each one from LEGO’s own building instructions, redrew the headlights, tail lights and side lights on red, and left the badge as a plain shape, because a car maker’s logo is not ours to print.
Another customer wanted the London bus set to feel like her own: her own route name on the destination board, two personalised side banners and a choice of number plates. We test-fitted the banners on loose bricks before sending a proof, and added a large square sticker for the front of the gift box.
What both jobs taught us
Measure from the instructions, not from a photo, because a sticker has to sit on a real brick face. Send a proof before anything is printed, so the builder is happy first. And put a spare of every sticker on the sheet, because getting one on dead straight first time takes nerve.
We draw our own versions rather than copying LEGO’s sheets, so a sticker replacement from us is a new design made to fit, not a reproduction. If you are detailing your own MOC rather than a set, our ready-made LEGO decals are sorted by build.
More real questions to come
This is the first in a series of posts built from questions customers send us. If you have a set that needs replacement LEGO stickers, or a build that needs ones that never existed, tell us about it on our custom stickers page. One design is £5, and anything that fits on one sheet is £10, plus postage.
